Storytelling is so important on social media and especially Instagram. Your audience wants to hear your story and they want to feel connected to you.
Now, if you’re panicking just thinking about how to tell your story in the best way possible, don’t worry. I have some awesome tips to help you do storytelling on social media a little bit easier.
Choose an image that easily tells a story
What stories do you LOVE to tell? Those are the stories that will be easier for you to tell and will come across more authentic. Start with scheduling images and content that make it easier for you to write a good story about it. If you’re struggling, focus on the easier images first and schedule those out first.
Turning a meh caption into a great one
Some people struggle with storytelling because they struggle with writing captions that drive engagement. Here is an example of how you can write even better Facebook and Instagram captions that will convert into new followers and an engaged audience:

Photo: A getting ready photo of a bride
Meh caption: I really love photographing my brides getting ready!
Tips for a great caption – ask yourself WHY. Why do you love photographing brides getting ready photos?
Make a connection, and tell the story (the why) behind the photo!
Use client testimonials with a photo of your client
A great option for telling your story is to incorporate some images showing client testimonials and a photo of your client. The testimonial should speak to why clients should hire you in a past client’s own words.
Your client’s testimonial tells the story of what it’s like working with you. And, it allows your audience to more easily put themselves in the shoes of your client and want to hire you!
